HPA005456 Anti-ARID1A antibody produced in rabbit
ImmunogenAT-rich interactive domain-containing protein 1A recombinant protein epitope signature tag (PrEST)General descriptionAT-rich interactive domain-containing protein 1A (ARID1A) is a member of ARID family, which forms a subunit of SWI/SNF (SWItch/Sucrose NonFermentable) chromatin-remodeling complex. It is a tumor suppressor gene, and binds to DNA in a non-sequence specific manner.7 This gene is located in the chromosomal region 1p36.11.8 AIRD1A is also called BAF250a, which is one of the two highly conserved isoforms of BAF250/AIRD1.4 It is a trithorax group (TrxG) protein, and is highly expressed in pre-implantation embryo and embryonic stem (ES) cells.5Physical formSolution in phosphate-buffered saline, pH 7.2, containing 40% glycerol and 0.02% sodium azideApplicationAnti-ARID1A antibody produced in rabbit, a Prestige Antibody, is developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project (www.proteinatlas.org) . Each antibody is tested by immunohistochemistry1 against hundreds of normal and disease tissues. These images can be viewed on the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) site by clicking on the Image Gallery link. The antibodies are also tested using immunofluorescence and western blotting2. LLCLinkageCorresponding Antigen APREST70748.Biochem/physiol ActionsAT-rich interactive domain 1A (ARID1A) interacts with Brahma-related gene-1 (BRG1) adenosine triphosphate and forms the SWI/SNF complex.3 It targets the SWI/SNF complex to the specific genes, and helps bind it to the DNA in a sequence non-specific manner.4 During gastrulation, it plays an essential role in proper germ-layer formation. It also helps maintain the embryonic stem (ES) cell stage and is responsible for the differentiation of cardiomyocytes.5 Because AIRD1A acts as a tumor suppressor gene, its inactivation has been implicated in various cancers, such as epithelial, ovarian and endometrial carcinomas.3 It is also linked to gastric cancer and has potential as a marker for the prognosis of patients with early stage gastric cancer. |
